Playing Cue - Mezz ZZ08 (Hybrid Pro II & WD700 Shafts)

This is my first high ended production cue from Mezz.. It comes with 2 shafts, the Mezz Hybrid Pro II which I simply adore and WD700.. I got this cue by chance after mistakingly selling my EC-J to another fanatic.. I love not only the way the cue plays, but also the look..

The Hybrid Pro II shaft is made from the marrying of carbon fibre and hard maple, resulting in a shaft 30% stronger than conventional shafts without sacrificing the flexibility of the shaft.. Like most high ended shafts are notwithstanding custom shafts, it is a low deflection shaft..

WD700 is slightly less stiffer, somewhere in between the whipiness of a 314 and HPII and I think it wouldn't be a big switch for someone using a 314.. It also has lesser deflection on the cueball compared to conventional shafts.. And it's much cheaper than a 314`! Anyways, been using this as my spare shaft, it doesn't get much play, might consider selling it off at a price I can't resist.. Lol..

Break Cue - Mezz ZZ-BK (Power Break 1)

Traded my Fury JB-BS for this wonderful break cue.. Simply love this cue, everything from its looks, play, right down to the SP Grip..

Enough said about Mezz, here's some information on this wonderful breaker.. The Mezz SP Grip wrap is a very good piece of wrap, giving the user maximum grip on the cue while performing the break.. The silicone material with high-traction surface gives your greater control and consistency in your break..

The coccobolo found on this cue is impregnated with a phenolic resin that will increase cue power and accuracy. This cue comes with the 1st generation PB shaft that is milled from heavy maple for added density and strength.. It is also designed with a stronger taper for better control..
This cue gives me very great control over my stroke and power.. Simply love the way it spreads the rack leaving my cue ball in the middle of the table most of the time..

WIN Black Leather Tooled Case (2 Butts 4 Shafts)

This is my current case, and a case I simply love.. The tooling on the case is outstanding, simply loves the tooling and how it manages to catch everyone's attention`! Lol..

This case is a tube style case, and from what I heard, it is produced by the same company which makes Instroke Cases.. The 2 pouches are big enough to store all my accessories listed in my accessories post.. It's really pretty heavy compared to my previous J&J Case..

Here are some accessories I use for the game I love that I would recommend, both for playing and also for maintaining the tip and shaft of my cue after each session..

Cue Doctor Shaft Cleaner and Conditioner

There are many cue cleaners in the market, but Cue Doctor is my personal favorite.. Mezz Billiard Towel

Bought this (100% cotton.. Lol) towel so that I can clean my shaft better with Cue Doctor (well, I believe it can.. Hahaha..) It measures a generous 16.5cm by 33.5cm.. One thing I didn't like about this Towel is that the 2 top sides of the towel is fixed together by a Gold Ring which comes with the chain hook and cannot be seperated.. The Gold chain hook can be easily attached to the cue case, though I wouldn't recommend doing that cause it looks weird..

Kamui 2nd Generation Tip

The current tip on my playing cue now is Kamui 2nd Generation Medium Soft.. The tip is made up of laminated layered pig skin leather and are produced in Japan..

Kamui is slowly catching up Moori in terms of users.. It is said to not mushroom easily like the 3rd Generation Mooris.. Medium soft feels very much like Moori Medium, maybe a bit softer, but IMHO, it retains chalk very well, generates ample spin with lesser force on the cue ball and retains its shape well.. If I'm not wrong too, this tip decreases deflection to the cue ball too..

Vinyl Pocket Chalker

Here's a pocket chalker I carry on me all the time while playing.. It's a handy piece of tool as I use a gray colored chalk rather than the normal blue colored ones provided by pool halls.. It really irks me when someone uses my chalk when they have already coated their tips with a layer of blue chalk, and I don't want to use a blue chalk mistakenly.. Having a pocket chalker also increased the amount of time I chalk my tip as it is easily within my reach, I certainly deem this piece of small but handy accessory a necessity for my game..

Well, there are plenty of variations of pocket chalkers like retractable chalkers and magnetic chalkers, but I really prefer this as I can stick it easily onto my back pocket.. It comes in 2 variations, Vinyl and Leather..

Master Chalks

Master Chalk should be widely considered to be one of the best chalks on the market. Made by Tweeten Fibre of Chicago,it has an outstanding texture that coats pool cue tips smoothly and evenly. This helps in preventing costly miscues when breaking or making a shot. Master chalk comes in many different colors from the common Traditional Blue to Black, Brown, Gold, Green, Gray, Red and Rust.

Felice Glove

This Felice glove is another important accessory in my game.. It gives me a smoother stroke as I have a bit of sweaty palms which creates alot of friction especially when using the closed bridge.. It is a flexible glove that fits everyone and feels comfortable over your hand.. It is suitable even for people without sweaty palms like me, as it helps your shaft to slide easier through your bridge hand, reducing friction, making your stroke more consistent and accurate..

Tiger LEDR Leather Burnisher

The purpose of a burnisher is to smooth and seal the pores on the shaft.. The more you burnish, the better the finish.. It makes the shaft much more slicker and moisture resistant, thus minimising moisture from getting on the shaft and cause raising of the grains.. In the long run, it helps to minimise risks or warpage on the shaft.. It is a handy piece of tool I would use each time after I finish cleaning my shafts with Cue Doctor..

J&J C24H (2 Butts 4 Shafts)

This is one of the cases I really liked, sold it off to a fellow PFer.. It has black crocodile prints on the exterior with a matching shoulder strap.. Fancy this case cuz it has a top and side handle compared to my previous cases, I can carry it instead of slinging it over my shoulders when they get tired.. Right, this case is a bit heavy though.. Never carried an Instroke before, but heard Instrokes are pretty heavy, dunno how this cue match up to the weight of an Instroke..

This is one case I really like because it's affordable, does the job of protecting my cues well, and the compartments are more than large enough to store all my accessories..

Brandless Hard Case (2 Butts 2 Shafts)

This is my first multiple cue case.. It's a lightweight black case bought from someone in yahoo! Auctions.. Think he acquired it from Mambo Billiards. Anyways, it has 2 compartments large enough to store all your items from your chalks, cloth to your gloves etc. Pretty lightweight case, doesn't put a strain on your shoulders, but not sure whether it protects your cues from constant travelling with the case..

Sold it away to a nice guy from PF after getting my J&J C24H.. He uses it to store his spare cues now..

J&J C11G (1 Butt 1 Shaft)

Bought this case together with my Viking F90, it's triangular which doesn't feel right for me when slinged.. Provides quite a good protection, lightweight, and doesn't look too bad compared to some other 1 cue case..

Sold it off to a good friend of mine after getting my Fury Jump-Break..

Playing Cue - Mezz EC-J with Hybrid Pro II Shaft

This is my first Mezz Cue, it's the start of my love for Mezz Cues. Wanted to get a purpleheart EC-P from another fanatic, but it came with the standard Professional UJ Shaft instead of the Hybrid Pro II shaft, so I got this instead. This cue has a firm and stiff hit comparable to SS Joints. The cue has a lot lesser deflection on the cueball compared to my previous Viking shaft..

Jump Break Cue - Fury Jump Break JB-BS

This was my very first piece of jump break cue.. Got it off a friend around January.. It is a 3 piece classy looking cue with a nice leather wrap at the butt sleeve area..

One of the selling point of this cue is its super hard and solid hit.. The cue is something of a copy of the Sledgehammer..

Would definitely reommend this cue to anyone who has a liking for very hard hitting cue with lotsa brute power.. It almost feels like you're gonna break the cue ball when you're hitting it.. Plus, it gas a nice leather wrap, you can't get a cue with leather wrap at such an affordable price!

The selling point of this cue is the phenolic combo tip+ferrule, but was also the reason why I didn't like it.. Guess it's just a personal preferance.. It feels too hard for my liking, but then it does give a good break, nice and solid..

Traded this for a Mezz ZZ-BK or better known as Mezz PB1(Power Break 1) around end March 2007..

Playing Cue - Viking F90

Fell in love with the sleek black design and the smoke colored pearl design on the butt sleeve. Officially, this is the first cue that I regularly play with. Would rate this as a medium hitting cue.. A middle balanced cue, one that I would recommend for beginners because it is a good quality piece of cue..

Vikings are also known for their customisation. Getting customers' specifications then getting the cue to you in breathtaking time is one winning factor of Viking.. I did not get my cue customised though, got it from Adrian at Cue Factor.. The original wrap was black linen with white specks..

Viking cues are made in America and are known in the industry for their quality construction. One thing I found out about Viking cues are that the three sections of the butt (butt, wrap area and forearm) are joined together not by dowels but by an interlocking dovetail or 'fingers' system which makes the cue feel very true and enhances feedback.

Playing Cue - DC

This is very first cue. Bought it from TPY Snooker Zone.. Like the hit on this one.. Don't know much about this cue, as the brand aint very established.. Guess I've played with this cue for maybe less than 10 times.. One thing I didn't like was the decals on the cue.. Sold it away to another fanatic, he was kindda amazed cuz it was in a very good condition, plus it's going at such a good price..

Bummer, these few days stay at home zo boh lan.. Haha.. Other than Christmas eve and christmas, the other days spent it rotting at home..

Anyways, Christmas wasn't that fun.. Spent the eve at PS, watched Death Note 2.. Did not even catch the prequel to it, wonder why I even bothered to watch it.. Guess I watched it for the sake of the guys.. Haha.. Wasn't really a good show? Well, not to my expectations at least..

Christmas - Spent the night at Zhen's place.. Wow man, they sure giao kui, anythin also can gamble.. Hahaha.. I take my hats off to them.. Haha, seems like they're preparing for Genting next week.. Haha.. Anyways, lost like 8 bucks, guess gambling aint my forte, but Aaron turned out worse.. Haha.. $85.. His tips of the day sure zhun.. Hahaha..

Wanted to watch Borat this evening.. well, or should I say last evening.. But the tickets are sold out.. No, selling fast when I reached the cinema.. Darn.. Aint gonna waste 8 bucks on front row seats.. And Kenix's feelin tired, so we ended up just grabbing a bite at the food court.. Probably I'd watch it today later.. Hope it'll be a good show..

Shit, it's been 3 days since I last posted.. I don't want my blog to be like the friendster one and also like how it was a few years back.. But pardon me, there weren't anything interesting these past few days, so guess I've nuthin much to write..

Anyways, watched Night At The Musuem with Kenix. It was real funny.. Haha.. You guys should go watch it.. Haha.. Yeah, and good entertainment value + educational value.. Hahaha..

Spent the whole day at camp yesterday.. And yes, now I remember why I didn't blog yesterday.. Haha.. Was the DO on Tuesday.. Anyway duty on Tuesday damn bo eng lor.. 3 guys sent to DB, 1 guy AWOL, plus one guy from my coy caught for stealing.. Piang.. Oops, confidential stuff? Think not bah.. hahhaa..

Woke up late for a start.. Had to attend my coy's muster parade and I'm the contingent commander.. Kindda nervous as this was the first muster parade I've attended.. I've done staff parades for the guards for my duty, but well, this is different.. Ok, well, didn't have much to do anyways, just shout a couple of commands and it's over..

Anyways, I thought my duty was yesterday, but turned out it was today instead.. So yeah, I'm at home right now, and I'll be in camp at this time tomorrow.. Bah.. It was as usual a busy day at work.. But since the stuffs I do are categorised secret and confidential, I aint gonna comment further.. Haha..

The rain sure dampened my mood.. And yeah, seems like it wanna stop me from going home.. Everytime I wanna make a move, it starts raining.. Fuck man.. Why is the rain picking on me?

Luckily for me, I found an umbrella back at camp, but I was still soaked to my knees as the heavy rain kept pouring down.. I was intending to take a bus home, and to my horror, I didn't realise I've forgotten to top up my ez link card, and I couldn't find any loose change.. Damn.. The uncle was real nice though, as I was preparing to alight and resign myself to taking the cab home, he asked me where I was going to and let me board the bus for free. (maybe one stop more and he might not had let me board the bus..) Well, this kindda thing brightens up my mood, yeah, 1 small act is all it takes brighten up someone's day.. Haha.. The uncles sure was a good samaritan.. It saved me the trouble of having to wait for a cab under the pouring rain.. And yes I got home without paying anything`! Haha, well, that's a first`!

K lah, i really need to get a new PC man, this old PC can't make it man.. Sianzation.. Haha.. Dual Core Processor, 1 GD DDR Ram, 160GB HDD at least and a normal GEFORCE graphics card can le.. Haha.. Yup, not forgetting a 19" monitor.. Haha.. X'mas wish.. Haha.. Well, I can keep on wishing.. Hahahaha..

Bummer, seems like I'm always writing late blogs.. But, muahahaha, don't care lah.. Haha, fell asleep on my couch last night after coming home quite late..

I lazed around at home for some time, before I started writing yesterday's blog.. Well, I wanted something new for my blog, as in the layout and maybe a nice background image for it, but I couldn't pull it off, guess I aint good in inputing commands.. The templates are confusing, and well, my IT knowledge is kindda crap.. Hahaha..

Went out for a walk at Takashimaya with Gang, Doug, Sky and Aaron. Was kindda bored right out, yeah, partly due to our(or is it their) indecisiveness. We spent a hell lotta time thinking of where to go.. Well, even something like a simple meal took us 10 minutes to decide.. Haha, well we ended up at one of the dim sum eateries at Cineleisure (Ah Gang's recommendation). Really "ho gai siao" sia. The food wasn't really nice + it was damn expensive.. Haha, just a few plates of dim sum and a plate of (indomee instant) noodle+luncheon meat+egg costed us $51.05. Bah, the indomee noodle costed $5.90, which is like "kena Tok Cai Tao".. but wit till you see this..

This 2 pieces of fried shrimp dumplings costs $3.50 which equates to $1.75/piece. I can add 25cts to buy a plate of chicken rice with that! What the fuck.. Hahaha..

Anyway, we then were left with another decision to make, that is whether to head to Momo or to Dbl-o.. Well, we ended up at Clarke Quay station, with the decision not made yet.. In the end we decided with Dbl-o.

It's the first time I went clubbing with the guys since my bacherlor's night party 2 months ago.. Haha, don't really get the chance to club these days (what to do when there's work and my marriage life). Retro night was something I was really looking forward to.. But clubbing isn't like the past anymore.. I used to not have any obligations going up close to all those pretty ladies, but since getting married, I'm getting more reserved.. Haha, well, take no chances I would say.. I'd be a nice husband and a nice father to my son.. Hahaha...

Well, that's it, we left around 2.20am which was like damn early.. Haha.. never went home this early on a clubbing night, but guess the guys were tired and the dance floor was real hot and stuffy..

Alright, gonna go load up some songs to my new phone.. Haha.. Ciao..

I meant to post this yesterday but i forgotten.. haha.. Anyway, woked up at 8am today and realised I was late for my appointment at MMI (read: Military Medicine Institute). Well, u guys must be wondering why the hell I'd need to go there, cuz that's was my same sentiments. The letter read, "you have missed your first appointment date and we have scheduled you for another appointment." Wait, i missed out somethin, the title actually reads "Psychological test". Crap, was wondering why the fuck do I need to go for a psychological test since the day I got the letter and well, I was about to find out..

The place was at some place near NUH, Medical Drive to be exact, think it's part of NUS if I'm not wrong.. I left my map at camp, so I decided to count my luck on the taxi driver. Well, when I boarded the bus and said I wanna head to DSO Kent Ridge Building which was near NUH, the driver remarked, "oh, that building" and I was like, "wow, he knows it, so I don't have to worry about it." So I said nothing further and placed the navigation in the hands of the "safe" hands of the uncle. Throughout the journey, I was still half cursing MMI for scheduling this appointment so far away this early(9am), the uncle did not make things better, he was driving at 70km/h on ECP. I half contemplated to lash out at his slow driving, (yup, he was travelling on lane 3 or 4 most of the time), but being the "good guy" i kept to myself.. Haha.. So we went on until we hit Kent Ridge drive and I knew instantly, he doesnt know the place, cuz he driven straight to Kent Ridge Wing of NUH. Half cursing my luck and not wanting to delay any more time(it was already 9.05am when i reached NUH), I alighted the cab. I decided to ask the attendant standing who was at the entrance of NUH where this DSO building is. As expected, it was not here, but somewhere near the main lobby.. (45 degrees left once u step out of the main entrance, that's what he told me) So I made my way to the main lobby and then to the direction he told me. It took me 5 mins to realise that I've walked into NUS (i saw some faces that looked like students, with their notes on their hands.) It took me another good 5 minutes to find the building after I tracked back my route(I paced back and forth the same route looking for the building). I did not see the building as it was someway in one of the small roads only until I looked up and saw the DSO sign at the top of the building. Fuck, waste my time, why the fuck do they situate the building at uch a secluded area. Zzzz..

When i reached the so called Institute, I headed to Room 5(signage indicating) and immediately I know, this must be a mass psychological test. I was not wrong, there was already 3 or 4 other guys, some in their army singlets there. They did not look like they have psychological problems, and they must be wondering why the hell do they need to take this test. I filled up the form and waited for my turn, it was not until I entered the room then I realised what I was stepping into. FUCK. They are gonna make me go through the computer test we took when we went for our medical examination at CMPB before enlisting`! (So that's the psychological test, when I was clearly expecting something else). I got it done in no time and got the hell outta there. What a waste of my time.

I was half contemplating to go home when I saw a msg from my OC(work work and more work). My coy's on off and we commanders suffer. Well, that's the way of life. So i dragged myself back to camp, did my stuff and went home as fast as time permitted.

I was preparing to meet Kenix, as she had to attend a Christmas function at Momo. I met her there, grabbed somethin to eat then made our way to Momo. It was not until I reached there, then I realised that I was steeping into a babe haven. Haha.. Well, what do you expect? There's bound to be more ladies than guys working in the cosmetic industry. If I was not married, I would have hit off with one of the gurls, but that was not the case, I'm married. So i guai guai sit down there and kept my eyes to my wife.. Though there was a galore of babes, the function wasn't that happening. I sat stiffed to my seat all the time, only leaving my seat to take a puff and go to the toilet and occasionally getting some drinks for Kenix and her friends. We wasted no time getting out of the club halfway through the main event.

We then decided(well, i decided) to catch a movie at The Cathay at Dhoby Ghaut. Was damn pissed off on the cab cuz it took real long, there was a major jam along the road beside PS. it took a good 5 minutes and $2.50 to get through the 30m stretch, I was cursing to Kenix on the decision taken by the cab driver to take that road even when he saw the massive pile up we were heading into. We bought tickets to Eragon at 9.35(2nd row from the front), by the time we went in after getting some drinks and kacang puteh, it was already 9.45. Watching a movie without watching the starting scenes is like missing the 1st few episodes of a serial drama and only watch the rest. But I convinced myself I did not miss much of the show.. Haha.. The cinema was impressive, my calculations suggested there were 22 rows, which is quite a huge theatre in any aspects. The seats werent that bad considering they were 2 rows from the front.

There was much hype created prior to the screening of the movie and I was expecting more, well, it did make up to my expectations halfway through the movie, but all the excitement, plot died down towards the end of the movie. It took less than 2 hrs for the show to end and I was certainly left disappointed. (I predicted confidently this show will run for at least 2 1/2 hrs at the start of the movie).

Anyways, we went home straight, took a bath, watched some TV den went to bed.

Now, this is just like the ending of Eragon, nothing much interesting towards the end. =D

Darn, whysit dat whenever i do stuffs related to gambling, im always down on my luck? I really wanna stop gambling.. But the lure of winning back my losses is too great.. But the more i try, the more i lose.. Crap.. Ok, i'ma make this vow, I'ma quit gambling.. At least until i cleared my debts..

Aniwaes, it's been so long since i updated my blog.. Lol, i almoz forgotten it exists.. LOL.. But hey, im back.. and im gonna try posting as many posts as i can.. If i can remember dat is.. I aint got the discipline to update my bloggie.. Bah.. But since i started, heck, why not continue?

Okay, i'ma still say this`! I NEED A JOB`! LOL... I tried meeting up with johnny to go to the agencies, but i always ended up oversleeping.. Darn, this must come to an end.. I cant spend so much time at night playin games and not sleeping.. I want a job`! And im real desperate to get one.. Shit... If i can't get one, how the fuck and i gonna pay my debts? how the fuck and im gonna go to genting.. Ok, so, i'ma make myself another promise.. That is to go to the agencies on tuesday since my original planned date turned out to be a public holiday.. Darn, one more wasted day..

Well, here i m, after my training.. All these just so dat i can skip the 4 weeks ptp.. Shacks, it's been a long time since i trained, but it felt kindda good.. I feel healthy.. Back to the days in secondary school where my physique meant so much to me.. Man, gotta work hard on my 2.4km run, cuz running over long distances has never been my forte.. I'm glad im balancing time out wif games and working out..

But seriously, i need a job`! Eddie called me today askin if i wanted a job as an accountant.. Wat? Accounting?!? U muz be joking.. I'm never gonna be an accountant.. i hate accounting to the core.. Having scraped thru all my accounting tests and exams.. I'm not gonna do sumthin dat irritates the hell outta me.. Drawing up accounts is juz so, ugh, indescribable.. Aniwaes, aint gonna get a job by juz complaining here.. so, i gonna work harder to find a job.. but it aint dat ez.. stupid jobs nowadays in the classified's are all with regards to accounting.. (yes, accounting again) or they're paying u peanuts to work for long hours.. seriously, where are all those good job offers? guess they're all taken up.. Bah.. Now, im left wif the leftovers.. Maybe i shuldnt "hiam" so much and juz take up watever job.. I need income`! how the hell am i suppose to go to genting without money`! zzzz..

Aniwaes, i'm glad, dear's gonna be back 2dae`! I miss her so much.. Can't wait to give her a tight hug when i see her.. =D

Ok, damn, i overslept.. I didn't even touch maple.. Omg`! That's weird.. alritey, juz called CMPB to enquire about my enlistment to ns.. (that's right, im goin in soon) phew, was kindda relieved dat i can still take my napfa test 2 weeks before my enlistment for PTP, not dat i dint noe.. My buddies had told already told me 100% confirm can one.. haha.. aniwaes, i gotta play maple.. aint gonna type much.. I MISS MY DEAR.. Haiz.. Friday seems a million years away.. Hope she misses me too..

Finally, Im done wif dis.. My head's spinning.. All these command inputs are driving me nuts.. Ugh, guess i won't be adding in any more stuffs.. I like it the way it is now.. Darn, I promised my frend my character'll be level 39 by tomorrow, and shacks, now i dun haf the time to level up.. I actually casted my mapling time aside to do blogging`! haha.. now, dat's sumthin new.. But i'm glad i got this started.. Hurrah.. This is the mark of a new "thing i can do" cept gaming.. But probably i'd give this up in a few days time? One never knows wat will happen.. But i'd try to update this everyday.. (Dat is if time permits.. oops)
